My designs for the White House this holiday celebrate the heart of classic Americana. They are bold, clean, imaginative, and innovative.
The designs are based on my interest on American folk art: needlework, quilts, weathervanes, eagles, and birds.
For the East Corridor of the White House, I designed 4 large stained glass wreath like medallions, to hang in a row of large windows.
These art glass pieces, pay tribute to great American designers:
LouisComfort, Tiffany, Louis Sullivan, and Frank Lloyd Wright.
The windows were made at Colorsmith Stained Glass Studio, Riverside Il.
For the windows in the State Dinning Room, I designed smaller round art glass medallions.
The Christmas trees are decorated with glazed ceramic flower ornaments, in colors that pick up the colors in the rooms drapery.
The same flower design was made into large and small glazed ceramic tiles to be put on wooden topiary boxes placed throughout the rooms. The flower design is joined by eagles, suns and moon motifs. The tiles were made by House Fifty Two, at Kabak Tile in Oregon.
I also designed a needlepoint pillow, with my version of the American Eagle.
My bold holiday designs for the White House celebrate my love of nature and are fresh, festive and fit perfectly into the people's house!
